We choose recycled packaging.
Your kept SKU Mystery Box was mindfully packaged using minimal, beautiful and eco-friendly materials!
We choose recycled materials in our packaging because it helps to save resources, reduce water consumption, and releases fewer greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. We order our recycled packaging from Ecoenclose because their mission aligns with our purpose of driving towards zero waste and ultimately striving for a circular economy.
Why ship in boxes and not reusable packaging?
Reusable shippers are great for use-cases like clothing rental. In a one-way shipping experience, like ours, customers often don't send the shippers back and they only are better for the planet if used many, many times (think 8+). This creates more waste and has a much bigger impact on the planet than recyclable packaging. Plus mailing shippers back to us has a carbon footprint. Not good. Our custom corrugated shipping boxes are made from 100% recycled content, 95% post-consumer waste. Cardboard is a recyclable material via curbside recycling in most municipalities so we chose this over other options. The boxes can also be composted, though recycling is preferred.
How we decided to use tissue paper and EcoBands
100% recycled tissue paper and 100% recycled EcoBands are plastic-free alternatives to the clear poly bag. Our white tissue paper is made entirely from post-consumer & post-industrial content and is recyclable and naturally biodegradable. We use a 100% Recycled EcoBand, where we tightly fold or roll your apparel, wrap it in recycled paper bands, and seal the band using eco-friendly kraft packaging tape, instead of folding clothes and placing them in a clear poly bag.
All our recycled shipping boxes, recycled white tissue, and recycled EcoBands are proudly made in the USA.
We choose eco-friendly by nature.
Noissue was founded on the same principles as we were, we are both committed to sustainability. We choose partners who align with our mission of keeping products in use and out of landfills or incineration.
Why are our stickers eco-friendly?
Our custom paper stickers greeting you on the outside of our mystery box, are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified which means they are sourced from forest and supply chains that are managed responsibly and sustainably. They are also free of the active acid pulp, lignin and sulfur found in most commercial stickers, meaning that the ink will not transfer and it won’t leave behind any of these unnecessary chemicals when decomposing.
Noissue uses soy-based inks, an eco-friendly alternative to petroleum-based inks, to print their products. Soy-based inks, made from soybeans, a renewable resource that has low levels of VOCs both reduce air pollution during the drying process, and won’t leave behind petroleum-based products when decomposing.
What's with the old school stamps?
We agree with Noissue that wood block stamps are eco-friendly by nature. They are infinitely reusable and help reduce the use of paper-based branding material wherever possible. As with our stickers, the ink used on our stamp is also soy-based. By using a stamp to brand our EcoBands and our boxes we move one step closer to our goal of being zero waste.
